Shanghai Association For Rare Earth, abbreviated as SARE was established in May 2013. The first president is Lu Fengxin, current president is Zhang Xiujiang and the secretary general is Wu Jiansi.
The association is composed of enterprises and institutions in Shanghai focusing on research and development, processing and application of rare earth materials voluntarily, which is the only professional and non-profit association established in China in non-rare earth mineral area and also the only association in the rare earth industry with patent authorization.
The aim of the association is to combine enterprises and institutions in Shanghai focusing on research and development, processing and application of rare earth materials to promote the development and application of rare earth materials and accelerate the development of local rare earth industry through various professional activities and services.
The registration authority of SARE is the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Social organizations, and the competent department of the relevant industries is the Shanghai Economic and Information Commission.
The association has six functional departments and four professional committees (rare earth magnetic materials, rare earth catalytic materials, rare earth luminescent materials, rare earth photoelectric materials).
In the past four years, under the leadership of Shanghai Municipal Administration of Social organizations and Shanghai Economic and Information Commission, the guidance of the president and the council, and the joint efforts of all member units, the association has closely followed the actual situation of the rare earth industry in Shanghai, acted as a good staff assistant, played a role as a bridge link and built member homes, including learning homes, service homes, innovation homes and norms homes. Developing from 14 sponsoring units to 106 member units, the association is appraised as 4A social organizations by the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Social organizations. It plays an increasingly important role in serving enterprises, leading the industry, and promoting the industry. The work has been highly praised by the Rare Earth Office of the State Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Shanghai Economic and Information Commission, China Rare Earth Industry Association and fraternal provinces and cities rare earth industry association.
Looking forward to the future , the association , under the leadership of the president and the council , will never forget our original aspiration and build a dream forward, carry forward the good tradition and the style of the association, take serving enterprise as the basic value orientation, condense force, continue with the past and open up the future, seize the opportunities , advance with the times, blaze new trails in a pioneering spirit and look for the truth to become the leader and pioneer to make the work of the association to a new level at a new starting point, make a greater contribution to the “ seeking improvement in stability and improving quality during the improvement” of Shanghai rare earth industry , thus becoming an important social force serving the development of the new material industry in Shanghai.
